Can Eating Certain Foods Stop Aging and Illness?
The Perricone Prescription has been receiving a lot of attention
lately. It is not just a weight loss diet, but a way of eating
that is supposed to soften wrinkles, firm the skin, reduce
inflammation in the body, and increase energy. Dr. Perricone
claims that in just three days, people will see the anti-aging
effects of this diet.
The staples of the diet are anti-inflammatory foods such as
salmon and blueberries. Perricone says foods such as sugar,
pasta, bread, bananas and other starches contribute to
inflammation in the body and speed up the aging process. He says
that inflammation leads to disorders such as arthritis,
Alzheimer's disease, strokes, cancer, and diabetes.
In addition to salmon and blueberries, Perricone recommends the
following anti-inflammatory foods: tuna, mackerel, herring,
snapper, broccoli, peaches, kiwi fruit, and spinach.
So what's so special about salmon and other cold-water fish?
They are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential to
proper functioning of the human body. Eating salmon and other
fish is considered by many to be better than taking omega-3
supplements. It is believed that the other properties in the
fish such as coenzyme Q-10 and DMAE, work
together with the
omega-3 to create a perfect balance. It is harder to achieve
this balance with supplements alone.
According to Dr. Perricone, making these changes in one's diet
will yield incredible anti-aging results. He calls this a
"Nutritional Facelift" and says results can be seen in just
three days.
While many doctors and scientists are skeptical, there are also
many doctors who believe Perricone to be on the cutting-edge of
the science of anti-aging. Numerous doctors now acknowledge that
what we eat has a direct correlation to the quality and
elasticity of our skin.
Whether you are looking to lose weight, reverse the signs of
aging, or just improve your overall well-being, a change in diet
should be your first step on the road to health. Whether you
follow the Perricone Prescription or another healthy way of
eating, you owe it to yourself to treat your body right. It will
thank you with many years of beautiful skin and overall health
and well-being.
