Your guide to Omega 3 capsules

Omega 3 capsules are a veritable horn-of-plenty when it comes to positive health effects. One of the most researched and effective supplements available, omega 3 fatty acids have been linked to reducing the risk of coronary disease, helping type 2 diabetes patients utilize the natural insulin occurring in their bodies, preventing on the onset of type 2 diabetes, ease the symptoms of depression, bipolar disorder, and ADHD, as well as a host of other beneficial effects. It's been known to improve the functioning of memory, help prevent strokes, and improve overall general health.

A tragic problem with the traditional western diet would be its lack of omega 3 fatty acids. An essential fatty acid discovered in the 1970s, omega 3 helps your body build healthy cells by assisting the construction of healthy cell walls. However, our bodies cannot naturally produce the omega 3 acid. We must get it from an outside source, and tragically, modern farming methods and changes in the traditional American diet have made it hard to get your

daily dose of omega 3. For this reason, many people have gone to taking omega 3 capsules or omega 3 pills to meet their daily need. Supplements, however, are not a magical answer to your lack of omega 3. There are three different kinds of omega 3 acids - alpha-linolenic acid, or ALA, eicosapentaeonic acid, or EPA, and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Before your body can use ALA, it must convert it to EPA and DHA. The body sometimes has trouble doing this, especially in the elderly. For that reason, it's definitely important to know that you'll be getting the full effect of the omega 3 by purchasing a supplement that contains EPA and DHA rather then the unprocessed ALA.

Since our oceans are getting polluted and its now tough to get the omega-3 acids we need from cold water fish due to mercury levels, it would be silly to not get your hands on some omega 3 capsules.
